Happy Valentines Day

Mitch made a Valentine Dinner for our RV Park--his famous BBQ ribs, homemade potato salad, and baked beans for 42 of us. It all turned out really good.

A little Thank You Dinner

Mitch fixed Indonesian steak kabobs with peanut sauce, a pasta salad, bread, and chocolate cake with berry sauce as a thank you to our friends who have helped us with little odd jobs to make out life more pleasant! We had a good night!

Dinner on Islamarada

Our friends from our Homestead church, Bob and Lynette, took us to Pierre's on the key of Islamarada just as the sun was setting. Lynette grew up on Islamarada and now lives in Stillwater, MN during the summer and winters down here.









It's always a nice drive down to the keys and this time Lynette showed us some of the side streets, her stomping grounds. Then we enjoyed a really nice dinner ...











and had a great evening!

Happy Birthday, Brayden!

Brayden turned four today and has spent the last three days celebrating. But today he got his real birthday cake--the one he specifically wanted and helped his mommy make--a Spiderman ice cream cake with all kinds of candies inside!

Caryn made homemade birthday cake ice cream (vanilla ice cream without the vanilla and add a cup of boxed cake mix) and Brayden helped with the crushed mint oreos, gummy bears, crushed candy canes, crushed dumdum suckers, and crushed M&Ms. It was colorful and very good.

A weekend with Brayden

Brayden spent the weekend with us and we had lots of fun. We did the Everglades and saw many alligators--Brayden's favorite was the big grampa one! Of course we had to have a fruit milk shake at Robert is Here, the local produce stand. We played cards, he likes "War", and he loves to draw on the patio.

Getting the coach fixed

We used to spend weeks and $$$ getting the coach fixed each year. Now we just ask someone who knows something and Mitch fixes them dinner.

The first problem was the slideout awning and we fixed that in November (check previous blog).

Then the Aqua-Hot electric didn't work so I called the service tech at Aqua-Hot and he told me a bunch of stuff. We did what he said and since Mitch couldn't see in the compartment he said, "Get your camera and take a picture of it." It was a good thing because I didn't know what I was looking for. Mitch looked at the picture and said, "Just press the little white button between the two black wires." It worked!







We knew we had to get the underside of the passenger slideout fixed because whenever it got wet we lost more coating exposing the wood. And both ends had the same problem. "Yes," we were told, "bring it into the shop and we'll get it fixed for you."






...or ask Norton. Norton is the resident "can fix anything guy" and he assured us a quick and inexpensive fix.



He cut out the bad parts, then put in Bondo, then sanded it down (a couple of times), then primed it,




then painted it, and then caulked it. Perfecto!!! Just like new!!! I think it cost Mitch $20 and dinner of course!

Keeping busy!

There is always something to do--no time to get bored. Brayden brought down his kite and needed a good place to fly it. He had a ball and it kept him quite occupied!












Rylan (dressed in Monaco wear) was the kite flying spectator!











One sunny day, we had a shuffleboard tournament. It brings out the best--not necessarily shuffleboard players, but everyone is the best at something!!












About mid tournament we all quit to have lunch--hot dogs and chips!

A great time was had by all!
