Brayden

Brayden was quite the little man, full of smiles and facial expression. We are anxious to see him again in a couple of months.

Whaler's Rest TT, South Beach, Oregon

It took awhile to get the yard pictures, I was waiting for the sun. We are now officially in the rainy season. Anyway, the front yard is about the same as always--a comfy spot to call home.

The backyard is the reason to roam. A little walk down the park road, we come to a trail through the woods. (Bryan do you remember this?) Down the path and across the highway is the backyard.

The Pacific Ocean, Newport, Oregon

And there it is! The coast of Oregon is almost all a part of the State Park system. And it goes on and on, as far north and as far south as you can see. The sound of the rolling, crashing waves is continuous.

Fishing and Crabbing Pier, Newport

We have had some time when the weather wasn't too bad, and we hit the crabbing pier. We caught a couple of the dungness crabs and a few of the Red Rock Crabs (smaller, harder, redder). Mitch also caught this pink starfish.

We also found an oyster farm, and we bought a couple dozens fresh oysters. Dinner that night was delightful--raw oyster and cooked crab!

Newport, Oregon

The pier is in the Yakina Bay just south of Newport to the south of the bridge. Looking across the bay is the jetty and Bayfront Harbor full of fishing boats, stores, and houses on the hill.

The ocean is beautiful. From the distance you can see the ocean spray come up onto the land. Looks like fog, and leaves one wet. A walk on the beach brought us to this little flock of beach birds looking for food and to beautiful sea foam that turned into prisms as the sunlight hit it (you may have to click and scroll to find the pretty patches of color).
